The Garden Defenders

It is well known that many garden pests, such as squirrels and rabbits, are repelled by the sent of their predators. A common predator of these garden pests is a dog! My garden is safe!

I have two Austrailian Sheppards that have the run of the back yard. They are both extremely intelligent (a breed trait) and well trained. They know not to go into the garden itself but I encourage them to play and do their business around the garden.

The scents that are left behind by AJ (the brown male) and Lizzie (the multi-color female) prevent many pests from even approaching the Garden. Before the dogs I would see squirrels in the back yard all the time and an occasional bunny, but no longer. I have not even seen a squirrel in a few months!

So not only are they extremely cute and loving, but they are great garden guardians!
