One of my favorite greens to grow is Spinach, but it is already far to hot in Central Florida to grow. Still wanting some greens in my garden I decided to try Swiss Chard. Swiss Chard is similar to Spinach but can be a little bit more bitter, and it is quite a bit more colorful. I recently planted some seeds for the Swiss Chard (a little late, I know, but they are heat tolerant) and they have germinated. The small plants already have a nice color to the stalk (does not show up well in the photos) and I am excited to see these grow. I hope they grow fast with the amount of rain and sun we are getting here now. I would love to harvest some Swiss Chard, Zucchini and Green Beans at the same time and have a nice fresh vegetable meal!
