Okra Production Slowing Down

So after have quite a bountiful harvest of okra through out the summer it appears the harvest is beginning to slow down. From only 2 plants I was pulling enough okra from the tree every 2 days to make a side dish and it only took a week to produce enough for a gumbo. This was a typical harvest every 2 days: Currently I am only getting about one or two pods every 2 days, sometimes less. The good news is that the okra is in an area that I do not need for my fall garden so I do not have to putt it out until it stops producing! What has changed for you this season? My okra didn’t do as good. But I am saving the seeds and next season should be better. I was growing Mammoth Okra near Ocala.
    Great website!

    @Andi,
    Do you know what caused your Okra to underproduce this season?

    I got a late start this year. Now I have 4 foot tall okra “sticks” with NO leaves and one HUGE okra at the very top LOL!!
    Now I am focusing on aloe, citrus, greens/letuces, cauliflour, broccoli, strawberries, and our wild blackberries. I just harvested worm castings today and will mix with coir and native sand for lettuce and some herbs. I really need to start taking pictures!! I am thinking of a Nikon DC90..any experience with that?

    @Andi,
    I assume you are talking about the Nikon D90, and yes it is a good camera. I would love to see any pictures you may take of your garden!

    Good luck with the fall/winter plantings!
