Try herb blocks

Here’s a simple idea both for growing herbs as well as repurposing something in your garden.

If you already have some concrete blocks, like I did, you can line one edge of the garden with them and plant your favorite herbs in them. Last spring I filled the holes with the same rich dirt as my garden. The successful herbs in my concrete blocks were basil, cilantro, oregano, thyme, tarragon and parsley. I got a little dill but it was not impressive. My chives were not at all impressive: They didn’t poke their verdant “hair” through the soil at all.herb cinder blocks
