Pest Control with Garlic Fire Spray

By: Dan Hagan - Managing Editor

It will give your plants garlic breath, but it’s well worth making this Garlic Fire Spray as an organic solution to insect pests in your vegetable garden.

You will blend up these natural ingredients in the mixer and keep to spray on your beleaguered plants.

Put these things in the blender and chop as finely as you can:

  • 3 garlic bulbs (six to 10 cloves each)
  • 6 large hot peppers
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • A little less than 1 teaspoon liquid dish detergent
  • 3 cups water

It’s truly stinky, but strain the mixture through cheesecloth, muslin or a coffee filter. Add 4 more cups of water. Be careful to keep it away from your eyes and off your skin. This stuff is really strong!

Put some in a labeled spray bottle. Pour the rest into labeled jars to store away for later. You can imagine that this stuff gets stronger as it sits around.Put what you need right now in a labeled spray bottle. Save the rest in labeled jars.

Note whether your garlic spray is working on the bugs. You can dilute the solution if necessary or change the ingredients slightly. Customize it for your own garden
