The record rainfall that Central Florida experienced in May damaged most of my garden. One of the plants that took it the hardest was the Cantaloupe. The leaves wilted (no sun) many leaves had fungus (no sun plus a ton of rain) and some that looked healthy just fell off! Now that the rainfall has slowed down to a much more reasonable amount it appears the cantaloupe has recovered and is starting to bloom. I have never grown Cantaloupe before so I am unsure if the fruit will be okay in the severe heat that Zone 9 will be experiencing here in the upcoming weeks and months, but if it does, I will be quite happy, Cantaloupe is one of my favorite fruits!
