Basil Propagation Continued

10 Days ago I wrote a post called How to Propagate Basil. In that post I showed the technique I use to take a clipping of a basil plant (I used Cinnamon Basil) and make a new plant out of it.

After about 3 days of soaking in the water the clipping started to sprout some small roots. The roots grew progressively over the next seven days until they were about 50% the length of the original clipping.

Once the roots were substantial enough I planted the clippings in some peat pots with a mixture of sifted compost, peat and soil. The plants should take root in the soil in a few days!

Once the plants start to show some vigorous growth I will transplant them to a permanent container outside!
